Maid of Honor Monday: Who to pick and Why
You have a big decision on your hands and you are probably more concerned with hurting someone’s feelings rather than worrying about your own. Well just to be honest serving as a maid of honor is serious business and you should treat it as such putting all feelings and emotions aside. So here are a few tips to help you decide.
1. Your maid of honor should be a Betty or Martha. By this I mean she/he should be comfortable with people, party planning, decor savvy and shall I go on. After all your maid of honor is responsible for hosting the bridal shower and bachelorette party.
2. Do not choose a Negative Nancy. If you have a friend that always finds a way to bring out the bad in any situation then steer clear. You will have enough stress on your hands making decisions without a Negative Nancy to add to it.
3. Honesty. Make sure whoever you choose to stand by your side that they are honest and upfront. If you have a friend that is more reserved/ laid back and would be more than happy to let you walk down the aisle looking like a stay puff marshmallow, rather than telling you the wedding dress your thinking about is not a really good fit, then this may not be the friend you select to be your maid of honor. The maid of honor should be someone you can trust to see you through it all.
4. Time commitment Choose someone who has the time in the schedule to attend appointments with you and be able to have time to take on the responsibilities. Choosing someone that really does not have the time to dedicate is only going to let you down big time in the end.
